Does my vehicle need to be registered and insured to run the trails?
No. As long as you trailer your rig to the trails you will be fine. Of course, if you decide to drive your rig on any public streets or highways all traffic laws apply.
Is there an age requirement to attend the event?
To be able to participate in any of the scheduled trail runs you must be at least 18 years of age. If you are under the age of 18 your parent or legal guardian must attend the event with you and sign a legal consent form for you to participate.
Who is allowed to participate in the event?
All Toyota off-road capable vehicle owners whether you're a member of TTORA or not are welcome to participate in this event.
Is there a list of required equipment I have to have to participate?
Yes. Everyone has to have a full sized spare tire, fire extinguisher, and basic first aid kit. A CB is not required, but highly recommended! For more info see: Takeover Safety Page.
Am I going to get in trouble for mud bogging in a meadow?
We respect the environment and many of our trails across the country are in danger of being closed. Any behavior that gives ammo to the environmentalists will not be tolerated. All participants must obey the following: Stay on the trail. Making new trails or bypasses is not allowed. It is not okay to drive over bushes or trees. Do not litter! Pick up trash when you see it even if it isn't yours, leave the trail better than you found it. Our trails are shared. Be courteous to other users including bikers, hikers, motorcycles, horses, other vehicles etc. Anyone violating these rules or intentionally destroying the environment will be ejected from the event and reported to park officials/law enforcement.
Will I scratch my truck or get dents?
As with any four-wheeling, there is always a possibility of damage. If you don't want to risk scratches and dents, stick with the easy trails and bring a spotter.
Is alcohol consumption allowed on the trails?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! There is zero tolerance for this. There is plenty of time to party back at the campsite or hotel.
